Across the world, the coronavirus has infected more than 316,065 people in 166 countries and killed 13,598. 

As millions of jobs are being lost every day in the Travel & Tourism sector and Oil Field Service companies facing bankruptcy, these are difficult, uncertain times.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention announced as of today: UAE reported 13 new cases of Corona-Virus as Saudi Arabia announced 15 new cases, alongside the Middle East which has surpassed the 15,000 marks. 

During a briefing, Dr. Farida Al Hosani, the official spokesperson for the UAE health sector, held in line the ongoing precautionary measures taken to avoid gatherings and ensure people's well-being and safety. Dr. Farida Al Hosani highlighted the latest COVID-19 developments in the country and assured the measures taken by Emirati authorities to combat the spread of the pandemic.

As part of a precautionary measure, the Dubai Municipal launched an 11-day disinfection campaign to clean and sterilize the streets and roads of the Emirate.

The Dubai EXPO due to open October 2020 has announced that leaders will convene in the coming weeks to re-assess the situation and plan accordingly. At present, work is continuing at the Expo 2020 site, where Expo-led construction is complete, and International Participant Pavilions are being completed.

Dubai banks have also announced business relief packages for customers as part of the support for the UAE economy:

Under the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai banks have come together to offer a comprehensive relief package to help their customers ease financial pressures in the current economic environment caused by the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The measures announced by the banks seek to support the UAE Government and the UAE Central Bank six-month economic stimulus package and the Dubai Government three-month economic stimulus package to support the business sector in the UAE and Dubai. Leading Dubai banks that have joined the effort to provide relief to their customers to include Emirates NBD, Dubai Islamic Bank, Emirates Islamic, Mashreq and Commercial Bank of Dubai.
